Saturday night Mike and I went to a wedding of one my college friends. I have been to what feels like 100+ weddings in the last 8 years and last nights wedding is up there with one of the best and most fun matrimonies I have ever witnessed. It was a true celebration of two people that love each other and that were excited about their new life together...everything about the evening was so them. The night included a belly dancer, ice cream cart and tons of dancing! I felt lucky to be part of this joyous occasion.
I put on my dancing shoes and cut a major rug, which with this crowd was a must. I danced like it was 1999 - literally, like I was 22 - leg up and all! It was a lot of fun. It was weird that I had not seen some of these friends in 7 years! The best part was it didn't feel like 7 years or even 7 weeks - it was so refreshing to see everyone and know that time has passed (so much has changed) but we can all get together and it feels like we were out just last weekend.
As the evening ended and we all promised to see each other soon or at least before we are 40! I felt very nostalgic...how has 7 years passed - how am I 30? Where had the time gone? Yet, I was so refreshed that although our lives have changed - some are married, have kids, live in a different country, etc., we can still get together and have a blast. Such good times.....so nostalgia is with me again this morning and I felt all of 30 the next morning nursing my hangover! I leave you with one of my favorites songs that doesn't bring me back to Studio 54 (Again,I am only 30) but here's to many fun nights with good friends....I am sure this will bring a few of you back as well! Cheers!
